Knucklehead
Every day I'm asking myself if my talking/teaching/preaching, etc. is pointless. Why can't we just come together and celebrate the Eucharist? Who cares what I have to say when Jesus the Christ is present among us? I sure don't. I'm a knucklehead. I just want to read and study scripture and theology, have good conversations (outside of the Mass) and then come to the sacrament to let it (him) do the talking.

You are NOT a knucklehead.
The talking/teaching/preaching is not pointless. What about the people who are confused about their faith and unclear about what it means. Preaching and teaching can help that person answer his/her own questions in ways that Eucharist perhaps can not.
Also, people are different and inspired by different things. Sermons inspire some people more than taking communion. I know your sermons kept me in the pews.

Okay, so here's the problem...
Worshp isn't about being inspired. It's not even about being instructed/taught in the way that we think of such things...
Worshp is about being brought into God's own LIFE. The real instruction comes from the Holy Spirit--not from some guy gassing on. And it is much more than ideas being passed on, but is the REAL transformation of our WHOLE person (and really the whole community) as we come into contact with--even commune with--the living God.
